Prawns Tom Yum


200g King Prawns

1 Large Shallots

2 Lemongrass

1 Galangal

3 Dried Chilli

100 g Mushroom

100 g chilli paste

5 cherry tomatoes

400 ml coconut milk

400 ml water


  1. Prepare prawns, herbs and vegetables.

  2. Add 400 ml of water, shallots, dried chilli, lemongrass into the saucepan with medium high heat and bring it up to the boil.

  3. When it’s boiling reduce the heat to medium heat, add coconut milk and chilli paste.

  4. Break up the chilli paste.

  5. Add tomatoes and mushroom bring it up to the boil.

  6. Add Kaffir Lime Leaves

  7. Add prawns and put on the prawns under the soup. Then close the lid for 1-2 minutes just until the prawns cooked.

  8. Check the prawns and turn off the heat.

  9. Add chillies, fish sauce and lime juice per your liking.

  10. Garnish with coriander. Now it’s ready to be served.
